DILLAI, Sep 16: The Karbi Kurusar Chingrum Amei (KKCA) today celebrated its 5th birth anniversary at Upper Dikrong open stage. The event began at 6:30 am with the traditional ritual ‘se karkli’ to seek the blessings of God. At 9 am, the organisation’s flag was hoisted by KKCA president Dhonsing Teron.
A delegate session was conducted to share ideas among the representatives from different branches of the traditional priests’ organisation.
At 2 pm in the afternoon, a public meeting was held which was attended by Dhansiri constituency VDC Kensing Engleng, Longri Kre Hini Sar Habe Amei president Mensing Teron, VP Harsing Teron, Hemphu Mukrang Adorbar general secretary Harsing Hanse, KARSA Dillai Aro, Diphu District Court Advocates, KKCA branch leaders and others.
Talking to media persons, KKCA general secretary Welson Tisso informed that the birth anniversary programme was peacefully concluded. He thanked all the well-wishers who had supported in conducting the event.
The general secretary further informed that KKCA was formed with the aim of bringing a positive transformation in the performing of Karbi traditional rituals and also to share the correct knowledge about the traditional rituals among the priests.
Meanwhile, KKCA president informed that he and his entire team were surprised to see no representative of the KAAC coming to attend the event despite the invitation. He said that their non-attendance was like an upset to the entire community of believers of the traditional Karbi religion.
