DIPHU/DONGMUKAK, Apr 28: More than 9 Karbi books were inaugurated on the second day of the ongoing 31st annual conference of the Karbi Lammet Amei (KLA) at Dongmukak. Among the books inaugurated today were Adam Asar written by Bonglong Terang, Sar Lamthe written by Longkam Teron, Jolang Kangdir written Kehai (Waeton Kumar) Bey, Hemphu Pirthe Kevang written by Lunse Timung, Arni Kangsam Acanvas written by Khorsing Ingti. Among the souvenir magazines that were inaugurated include Jiroi, Maino, Dikrutpi Armung and others.
Chaired by KLA vice president Kamsing Hanse, MLA Darsing Ronghang attended the session as the chief guest in the presence of KAAC speaker Raju Tisso, EM Lunsing Teron, EM Bili Mohon Khaklary, EM Kangbura Killing, Thong Nokbe College principal Dr. Dhananjay Narzary and other dignitaries.
Later, an open poem recitation session was held in the afternoon, which was chaired by eminent poet Saret Hanse, while eminent translator and poet Khagen Ingti was the critic. Padmashree Dhaneshwar Ingti while delivering the inauguration speech of the session said that beginners should give up fears and shyness in writing and began experimenting new genres and themes. More than 50 poets recited their poems.
Presided by KLA vice president Karon Hansepi, a story telling and riddles competition was also conducted for the young participants of the conference.
Earlier in the morning, KLA president Barim Ingti and 57 other members from regional and branch committees hoisted the organisation’s flag.
