VOTHATLANGSO, Aug 06: Klirdap NGO held a press conference today at its office in Dongkamukam to announce the launch of the M/S Local Fish Wholesaler, an initiative aimed at easing access to fresh fish for local retailers and distributors.
During the press meet, Rangsina Bey, the President of Klirdap NGO, stated that the wholesale operation will officially start on August 7, offering a wide variety of locally sourced fresh fish at wholesale rates. This initiative is set to benefit local fish retailers and distributors by providing them with easier access to fresh stock at affordable prices, he said.
Adding to the announcement, Krishna Timung, the secretary of Klirdap NGO, highlighted that apart from local freshwater fish, ocean and sea fish varieties will also be made available based on public demand.
Timung also extended heartfelt thanks to CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, who supported the initiative and granted permission for the issuance of the trading license. The press meet was attended by several dignitaries, including Sixth Schedule Chamber of Commerce President Longsing Terang and his team, who expressed their support for the initiative.
The launch of M/S Local Fish Wholesaler marks a significant step towards boosting the local fish trade and strengthening the regional economy through sustainable fish distribution practices.
