DOLAMARA, Nov 24: Residents of Bapuram Tokbi (Ashram) today carried out social work along Dolamara -Borjuri PWD Road ahead of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma’s visit for a religious gathering slated to be held on November 26.
According to locals, they approached the PWD officials and submitted an application one week back requesting them to fill potholes before a religious programme. The residents told TDE that PWD officials said they have been facing a shortage of manpower and would not be able to carry out gravelling work at the moment. The villagers claimed PWD officials further told them to carry out road repair work on their own.
Meanwhile, local residents were lauded and appreciated for carrying out road repair work on their own while also expressed dismay claiming Dolamara-Borjuri road has been neglected even as Chief Minister of the stated was expected to visit the area.
