DIPHU, Sep 28: On September 27, Longsing Ronghang of Rongchingdon in Ward No. 3 Hamren, West Karbi Anglong was ordained as the new Karbi King. The 52-year-old new king was given the charge amidst several traditional customs and rituals.
His Highness Longsing Ronghang is the son of former KAAC MAC from Hamren Lt. Lindok Ronghang and Lt. Kakrung Teronpi. Siblings include Moniram Ronghang, Prodip Ronghang, Mensing Ronghang, Ramsing Ronghang and Robi Ronghangpi. The family formerly resided at Ujan Donka Jor Terang Village, Hamren.
The king began his school education at Model LP School Hamren and then studied at Higher Secondary School. In 1995, he married Ruplin Teronpi and made a family. They have four children, two sons and two daughters. They are Pirbi Ronghangpi (BA passed), Mongalsing Ronghang, (HS), Sertalin Ronghangpi (reading in class 10) and Sarmon Ronghang (reading in class 5).
KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang along with his team from the KAAC had visited Hamren and congratulated the new king and also extended his well wishes.
