PHELANGPI, Apr 25: MLA Rupsing Teron on Monday laid foundation stone for the construction of PWD road connecting Jiriso Jeng Kro village under the PWD Kheroni Sub Division inside West Karbi Anglong district. The proposed road is being sanctioned under the Mukhyamantrir Pakipath Nirman Achani (MPNA) scheme.
The foundation stone was laid by the Baithalangso MLA in presence of Kopili MAC Pawan Kr. Rai, Kopili VDC chairman Baburam Rongphar, Baithalangso PWD Division executive engineer Bisojit Sum Bhatacharji and contractor Champa Basumatary among others.
While speaking on the occasion, MLA Teron informed that the 5 kiolmetre stretch of the PWD road would be constructed at the cost of Rs. 3.5 crore and was sanctioned for the year 2022-2023. The MLA also informed that similar development projects would be executed in five other places including Longre and Umru.
