PHELANGPI, Jul 17: In a move aimed at enhancing rural infrastructure and promoting cultural development, Baithalangso MLA Rupsing Teron today inaugurated an open stage at Solok Enghi village in Tharvehidi (Ampathar) under West Karbi Anglong district.
The construction of the open stage fulfils a long-standing aspiration of the local residents, who had been seeking such a facility for community and cultural gatherings. The project was executed under the United Fund of the Rongkhang Development Block, with an estimated sanctioned amount of Rs.10 lakh.
The inaugural event witnessed the presence of Kapili MAC Pawan Kumar Rai, VDC Chairman Baburam Rongphar, noted social worker Buleswar Enghi, and several grassroots party workers and community functionaries, reflecting strong community support for the initiative.
With its inauguration, residents of the area will be able to host public meetings, cultural or social events expecting towards fostering social cohesion in the area.
