BIRSINGKI, Mar 28: In a latest incident, wife of slain forest guard Bidyasing Lekthe has left her home and in-laws at Jaluklangteng Lekthe village under Chinthong MAC constituency inside West Karbi Anglong to live with her own parents along with their children.
Parents of the slain forest guard’s also made constant and continued to plead their daughter-in-law to not leave them. Further, relatives and villagers also made similar heartfelt pleadings but the wife of Lt. Bidyasing Lekthe was inconsolable.
The wife of the slain forest guard Basapi Timungpi told reporters that the drastic and heartbreaking decision to leave husband’s home was taken as she could no longer tolerate mental harassment caused by the brother-in-law. “I could no longer continue to bear the constant verbal pestering by my late husband’s elder brother who would always use profanity and blaming me fot all the problems they face. He would always yell at me to leave home and that is why I took this final decision,” said Basapi.
The scene of the wife of the slain forest guard packing her belongings and leaving the village was a heart wrenching moment during which the in-laws, relatives and villagers were seen in tears as they could not console her nor stop her from leaving.
