KOILAMATI, Mar 16: The Murphuloni Forest Account Sub-beat office located along the Karbi Anglong – Golaghat border is currently running with only one Beat Officer. The office is located at Borjan-Tokolangso area under North Eastern Silonijan Forest Range and is covered under Garampani and Nambom Reserve Forest.
Locals have appealed the Forest Department under KAAC to appoint more staff in the beat office at the earliest because only one BO cannot look after the affairs of the office. Several trucks carrying different kinds of mineral resources and forest products and cross the BO. However, the presence of only one staff at the check-point is unable to properly check the validity of documents carried by the traders.
Apart of from having insufficient staff, the BO also does not have any vehicle and there is only one dao in the form of weapon.
The Beat Officer posted in KOILAMATIthe office Sarthe Tisso had appealed the CEM of KAAC Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, DFO, and North Eastern Silonijan Forest Range ACF Pronab Teron to help him in running the office smoothly and efficiently.
