NHM Assam ensures continuity of 108 ambulance services during proposed strike

DIPHU, Aug 05: In view of the proposed indefinite strike by the “All Assam 108 Mrityunjoy Employees Association” from 5th August 2025, the National Health Mission (NHM), Assam has issued directives to ensure uninterrupted 108 emergency ambulance services across all districts.
The “Upper Assam 108 Mrityunjoy Employees Union” has confirmed its non-participation in the strike and pledged to continue services. To support this, NHM Assam has requested all District Commissioners to provide necessary protection and security to ambulance personnel, vehicles, and medical equipment during this period.
District administrations have been urged to instruct police and relevant authorities to ensure safety at ambulance stations, along routes, and while attending emergencies.
The NHM emphasized that uninterrupted ambulance services are vital for saving lives and safeguarding public health. All districts are requested to extend full cooperation and report contingency measures to the Mission Directorate.
