DIPHU, Aug 04: Nimme Rongpharpi, daughter of Prodip Rongphar and Rosemary Katharpi, has cracked the Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) and is all set to join the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi. She will leave for Ranchi tomorrow to begin her academic journey.
Born in 2007 in Guwahati, Nimme began her early education at Good Shepherd School, Guwahati. In 2012, her family returned to Diphu, where she continued her studies at Kidzee. She later enrolled at Erudite Academy and completed her matriculation in 2023. She completed her higher secondary education from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Rongkhelan, graduating with distinction in 2025.
A consistently bright student, Nimme has always shown dedication to her academics. Her father, Prodip Rongphar, proudly shared that she has never ceased to impress them with her outstanding academic performance. “She has always been focused and determined,” he said.
In a brief interaction, Nimme expressed her happiness and gratitude for securing admission to such a prestigious institution. “My hard work finally paid off,” she said with a smile. Reflecting on her journey, she shared that her decision to pursue commerce was initially met with hesitation from her parents, especially as her elder brother was already in the same stream. However, she remained firm in her choice. “I was in love with the commerce stream from the beginning. Eventually, my parents supported my decision, and I’m grateful for that.”
She further emphasized the importance of parental support in shaping a child’s future. “Parents should always support their children’s career choices. Their life, their future, and what they become depends on that one decision,” she said.
Nimme now plans to pursue a BBA-MBA integrated programme, clear the CAT and other programmes in future, and eventually work abroad. Her ambition and clarity of purpose reflect her drive to achieve excellence in both academics and career.
