Parents demand investigation after their child dies of food poisoning in Hàvarkehat

HAVARKEHAT, Apr 23*: Parents of Lt.Tonmoi Borah Rongpi demanded CBI inquiry into their child’s demise case after they were denied justice even after 18 days since the food poisoning incident. The family called for a press conference at their residence Milonpur village, in association with the food poisoning incident at Shankardev Vidya Niketan School in Havarkehat. Lt.Tonmoi Borah Rongpi, a 13-years-old boy, son of Don Borah Rongpi and Rupalyn Terangpi met with the ill-fated incident after consuming Chow at school on March 28. Following the the incident, the parents of the child had filed an FIR at Havarkehat Police station after which, the SP of Karbi Anglong had also paid a visit to the child’s residence. However, no justice has been serve even after eighteen days since the incident. In fact, no forensic report has been issued by the medical department’s end till date.
The parents called for a press meet this morning at 11:00 to express their dissatisfaction and also strongly condemned the system they have been served with. Later during the press conference, the father of the child demanded investigation and appealed CEM Dr.Tuliram Ronghang to intervene in the case and conduct essential CBI enquiry soon.
Besides the child’s parents, the press conference was accompanied by USUKA, KSA, AASU and Adivasi & Dimasa students’ organization to support them with their presence, making it a successful media communication.
