PHULONI, Jan 11: The All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC) Phuloni Constituency unit has demanded MP Horensing Bey’ resignation on moral ground for failure to move forward the demand for implementation of Article 244 (A) of the Constitution of India. This was stated during a press conference convened here today.
“All elected leaders including Member of Parliament and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council CEM, have been elected by the people of the hills district with the aim of taking up their demand and issues and therefore, they should take step down on moral ground,” said the APHLC member.
Further, the party member said, “Instead of vigorously pursuing the core issue of the hills people, they lost all credibility by constantly targeting and blaming APHLC which have not won election yet. The unparliamentary remarks against their party president JI Kathar have adequately exposed their lies and attempt to cover up their failures and divert from all issues.”
The local regional party members also reminded CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang’s statement that he would step down for the sake of Article 244 (A) demanding him to resign from his post to demonstrate his word.
The APHLC Phuloni Constituency unit has severely criticised the MP and CEM over their silence when the state’s polity is currently dominated by Kamtapur statehood issue.
