BOKAJAN, May 09: The Karbi Anglong police recovered a pistol and ammunition from a bus passenger during a search conducted inside a bus at a special checkpoint near the Khatkhati SBI office under the Khatkhati Police Station here today.
According to the police, the arm and ammunitions were recovered from two female bus passenger during a search conducted inside a bus with the registration number AR11B3408 intercepted at the checkpoint set up immediately on receiving intel report.
During the search, the cops recovered one .22 pistol and 7 rounds live ammunitions. In this connection two female identified as Dimpi Saikia, d/o of Giridhar Saikia, resident of Shantipur Nambor Nodi road and Rekhamoni Duwarah (28), d/o Akon Duwarah, resident of Bamunbari, Sivasagar were arrested.
Further, a case has been registered against them and the arms and ammunitions were seized accordingly, the police informed.
