DIPHU, 25 Mar: Members of the local Press Club visited Assistant Professor of Rukasen College Dr. Harvi Engti Katharpi following the ongoing controversy which shook the district through the social media platform. The visit was made with the aim of acquainting detail of the Amrit Sarovar scheme.
While interacting with the media, the college professor said that the scheme aimed at developing and rejuvenating 75 water bodies is a good project which will benefit the community but its execution inside a college compound is not acceptable. “Though the scheme would not have any personal effect but it would have an adverse impact on the college. This would hinder college building and its future infrastructure expansion as the number of students would grow,” she asserted.
Further, she pointed that the scheme was meant for rural areas and not for urban and town area and therefore, its allotment and execution inside Rukasen College campus falling under the Bakulia Municipal Board, Ward no. 7 under EM Madhuram Lekthe was illegal. She said that the execution of the scheme is only damaging the image of the present BJP government. The lady professor also pointed out that the show cause notice issued through the Inspector of School (IS) which was delivered between 8-9 pm by two men was also completely unlawful and should be handed over to her during office hours. The professor expressed her deep dismay over the entire issue.
