Public demands development in Naga Rengma LP School

KOILAMATI, Sep 25: Residents of Koilamati area have demanded for developmental works in one of the oldest lower primary schools in the region. The Naga Rengma LP School in Sathi Rengma village in Kadom-Ari Mai area, about 25 kilometers away from Koilamati was established in the year 1949. It falls under the Nilip Education Development Block.
This 74-year-old school is lying in a pathetic condition with no boundary walls, no kitchen, no proper toilet blocks and staff quarters. The roof of the present building is also leaking, the doors are open 24×7. The students here do not have enough benches to sit.
Locals informed TDE that there are more than 39 students reading the school. In the absence of quarters, the teacher of the school uses the classroom to stay and sleeps on top of desks. A teacher from another school also joins the teacher here in staying.
Locals have earnestly appealed to KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang and Nilip Education Development Block chairman George Rongpi to take needful action to improve the condition of the school.
