Reception Committee Formed for 33rd ZKYF in Borjan KCS Zone

BOKAJAN, Aug 04: Preparations for the upcoming 33rd Zonal Karbi Youth Festival (ZKYF) gained momentum today with the formation of the Reception Committee for the Borjan KCS Zone. The meeting to constitute the committee was held at the Bokajan Municipal Board Auditorium, chaired by Janasing Teron, president of the Borjan KCS Zone, and assisted by Secretary Janasing Tokbi.
The gathering saw the presence of several notable personalities. Borjan VDC Chairman Sonaram Singnar attended as the Chief Guest, alongside guests including KCS Central Unit member Suren Hanse, KLT Board Chairman Nobin Terang, BMB Chairman Sardili Bey, PCB Chairman Jivon Ch. Pathak, KLA NDHA President Tusewar Terang, and SGB Association Secretary Borsing Bey, among others.
In his welcome address, Janasing Tokbi extended an appeal to all members for their active cooperation in ensuring the smooth conduct of the zonal festival, which is scheduled to be held at the Rongkangthir Playground, Bokajan Block. He also shared updates on the formation of the new KCS Chungajan Unit, urging members to continue their commitment towards youth development and cultural preservation.
Suren Hanse, representing the KCS Central Unit, spoke on matters related to the structure and responsibilities of the ZKYF Reception Committee, guiding members through the planning process and offering valuable suggestions.
Following detailed discussions, the Reception Committee for the 33rd ZKYF was formally constituted. Borjan MAC Surjya Rongphar and KLA Board Chairman Nobin Terang were named Chief Patrons of the festival. Jivon Ch. Pathak was appointed as President, with Borsing Bey as Vice President, and Sardili Bey as Secretary.
Other speakers at the meeting shared their views on festival preparations and the collective responsibility of the community to uphold the spirit and tradition of the Karbi Youth Festival, which has long served as a platform for cultural expression and youth engagement.
