Recovery agents visit continues despite micro finance loan waiver claims

KOILAMATI, Dec 14: Residents of Dholajan area inside Chokihola falling under the Nilip MAC Constituency have expressed deep dismay and frustration alleging that recovery agents continue their visit demanding return of their money they took from micro-finance bank in 2019.
According to the villagers, the recovery agent visited Dholajan area here today to demand immediate return of their money with interest they taken from the bank. The villagers told TDE that they however send back the recovery agents reminding Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang have already announced waiver of their loaned money during election campaign meetings.
Further, expressing dismay villagers told TDE that several individuals have even received notice from Court due to which they are under extreme mental harassment. “Are those announcements not true? Are we being lied to by Assam Chief Minister and KAAC CEM? Why are the poor people being harassed like this?,” irked villager said.
Following this, villagers have called upon the Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Team Karbi Anglong led by Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, EMs and MACs for their immediate intervention to end the harassment and come out with official statement at the earliest.
