DIPHU, Apr 24: In a latest development, Karbi Anglong district Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjib Kumar Nath, APS informed that the revolver allegedly used by Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Secretary Mukul Kathar has been recovered during a search conducted at his residence here today.
Addressing the media, SP Sanjib Kumar Nath informed that the search was conducted after Malini Teronpi, sister-in-law of the KAAC secretary filed a complaint against him at Diphu Police Station after she was attacked and later blank shots was fired in front of her home on April 22 and threatening her parents of dire consequences if any complaint is lodged against him at the police station.
The Superintendent of Police further informed that in this connection, a Case No. 44/23 u/s 447/294/A /506 IPC r/w section 25/1(A)/27 Arms Act was registered against Kathar after which, a search was conducted at his residence during which the revolver used by him was recovered.
The accused Mukul Kathar was not at his home and was stated to be in Guwahati when the search was conducted at his residence, SP Sanjib Kumar Nath added.
