DILLAI/BOKAJAN, Mar 24: Resident of Dhansing Engleng village Roshie Tokbipi has refuted the allegation leveled against her by Karbi Anglong Women Justice Forum (KAJWF) over her. This was clarified during a press conference convened here today.
Speaking to reporters, Roshie Tokbipi said that the allegation made by KAWJF secretary Precila Terangpi was completely misleading and baseless stating that she has voter ID card, Tribe Certificate and Affidavit which was made in 2012 when her husband Nogen Engleng was alive.
She stated that she adopted Karbi surname legally through my husband’s family. Further, she refuted the allegation that she was attempting to capture other’s land and asserted that she was dwelling in her own land with her two children.
“I am a Karbi and all my children are Karbis and we have been living peacefully with all neighbours and would spend our entire life in Karbi Anglong,” she added. She also called upon the women’s organisation to work legally and have all official records before pursuing any matter in the greater interest of all people. She also urged upon the organisation to ensure that they do not fall into the trap and be misled simply by mere information or allegation.
