DIPHU, Aug 7: The Karbi Anglong district administration today hosted the District-Level Sampoornata Abhiyaan Samman Samaroh along with the inauguration of a four-day Akanksha Haat exhibition, scheduled from August 7 to 11, at the Sarsing Habe Town Hall. The event was ceremonially inaugurated by Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), in the presence of Sri Dorsing Ronghang, MLA Howraghat LAC, Sri Bidyasing Engleng, MLA Diphu LAC, Executive Members, MACs, District Commissioner Smti Nirola Phangchopi, and senior officials.
Following the inauguration, the CEM visited the stalls set up by villagers, women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs), artisans, and rural entrepreneurs. The Akanksha Haat aims to empower local communities by promoting indigenous products and crafts. The exhibition is a step towards encouraging economic self-reliance and promoting the government’s “Vocal for Local” initiative.
The Sampoornata Abhiyaan is a flagship initiative of the Government of India, focused on achieving 100% saturation of key development indicators across Aspirational Blocks—particularly in health, education, nutrition, agriculture, and social welfare. As part of the Samman Samaroh, several individuals were felicitated for their outstanding contributions. Awardees included Smti Junali Nath, BDO Samelangso, Sri Mongal Sing Rongphar, BDO Rongmongve; and Sri Jevin D. Changsan, BDO Nilip Block.
