AMTERENG, Aug 23: Sangmet Senarpi, a young karateka from Hongkram Chandro Teron village in West Karbi Anglong’s Rongkhang constituency, has made her family and community proud by winning a bronze medal at the All India Karate-Do Federation Championship.
The event was held in Chhattisgarh from August 17 to 19, 2025.
Despite coming from a humble background, Sangmet’s determination and hard work have paid off. With just a year of karate training under her belt, she has rapidly progressed through district and state-level competitions, securing wins and now, a national-level bronze medal.
Sangmet thanked her parents, Nirmal Senar and Arti Teronpi, who have been instrumental in supporting her journey, encouraging her to pursue her passion for karate.
