BOKAJAN, Apr 24: The Bokajan Sub-Division was on Sunday hit by squall leaving trail of destruction in many locations.
The storm hit the town in the afternoon at around 2:30 pm during which several houses were damaged and trees were uprooted. Locals told TDE that the storm which lasted about an hour during which roofs of several houses were blown away and massive trees were also uprooted blocking pavement and damaging other properties. A massive tree near Bokajan APDCL office was also uprooted causing fear among locals of the area. The blockade caused by uprooted trees also led to halting of traffic for about two hours until it was cleared by locals.
Meanwhile, electric cables were also snapped leading to blackout in several areas of Bokajan town. However, no injuries or casualties were reported at the time of filing this report.
