CHOKIHOLA, May 12: The School Management Committee (SMC) and headmaster of Chokihola English LP School demanded the immediate appointment of more teachers. The school is located in Wophong Teron village under Nilip MAC constituency. Due to the huge number of students, the headmaster Parameswar Narzary appealed to the KAAC EM i/c education department Richard Tokbi to immediately send more teachers to the school.
Established in 1987, Chokihola English LP School is one of the best govt. LP schools in Karbi Anglong with good infrastructure and a clean environment. Local residents all praise the headmaster Parameswar Narzary, SMC president P Teron, the teachers and the village headman David Teron for their effort in maintaining the school.
“It is very hard to manage a school with such huge students with few numbers of teachers,” said the headmaster Parameswar Narzary.
In the Gunotsav held recently, the school got Grade B, coming down a little from its earlier result of Grade A.
Presently, the school has 510 students with only nine teachers, out of which one is assigned the duty of BLO. As such the teacher-student ratio is not as per the govt. norms, there is a need for more teachers. For a better teacher-learning process, the village headman had said that KAAC must take needful steps very soon.
