BOKAJAN,Apr 25: A truck carrying liquor with registration number AS 01 DC 3766 lost control and veered off the road after being hit by a dumper truck early this morning.
The incident took place near Deopani RCC bridge, on National Highway-39 under Borpathar police station.
The driver of the truck was identified as Romen Singha of Umrakata, Hojai district under Bishnupur Police Station. Despite the catastrophic accident, no casualty was reported except for some minor injuries.
Following the incident, local police of Borpathar immediately rushed to the vicinity. The truck was carrying liquor.
According to Albert Rongpi of Excise department, the wine recovered from the truck is worth Rs. 21 Lakhs. He further stated that the truck has necessary documents for supplying the liquor legally.
