HAVARKEHAT, Dec 09: In a latest incident, two wild elephants were killed by electrocution in the area between Ok-kereng Pubdikharu and Digholiati falling under the Dokmoka Western Range in the wee hours here today.
According to officials, the incident took place at around 3 am when the two wild elephants were killed immediately after coming into contact with a live wire cable at paddy field where it had entered in search of food.
In receiving information, Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF) Diphu Dr. Vinay Gupta, Dokmoka Western Range ACF Rajen Rongpi, Nomati MAC and EM Ritesh Enghi, and Howraghat police team also reached the spot to assess the incident.
