The missing woman has been identified as Sukhila Ronghangpi, wife of Soten Engti, while the missing man has been identified as Johnson Teron, aged 30, who was married only six months ago. Both belonged to Panjan Ram Lekthe village.
According to reports, Sukhila, who was employed at Bogijan Assam Gramin Vikas Bank, had left home for work but did not return. Her husband, Soten Engti, who is working in Bangalore, immediately boarded a flight to return home upon learning of her disappearance. Family members said he is devastated and has appealed to the public to extend all possible help in tracing his wife.
On the other hand, the family of Johnson Teron has also been left equally shocked and heartbroken over his sudden disappearance.
The mysterious vanishing of the two villagers on the same day has sparked widespread concern. While families remain hopeful of their safe return, many residents of the area suspect that the two may have eloped and could be in hiding.
In a bid to trace the missing duo, the families have issued a call to fellow Karbis working in Kerala, Chennai, Hyderabad, Karnataka, and Bangalore, requesting them to immediately share any information if the two are spotted.
The incident has cast a cloud of shock and speculation over the village as search efforts continue.
