HAFLONG, Jul 27: Dima Hasao police on Sunday arrested one Shivam Pandey, a resident of Gorakpur in Uttar Pradesh for fraudulent activities in Dima Hasao.
Pandey who posed himself as officials of MIGLOX Petroleum pvt ltd., was arrested following a police complaint by one hotellier of Haflong on Saturday for not paying accomodation bill and taking Rs. 25,000 in pretext of offering Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the firm.
Additional Supt. of Police (Crime) Faruque Ahmed said that Pandey has been collecting money from several individuals in pretext of CSR initiative in Dima Hasao and offers IPOs of the firm. ASP Ahmed confirmed that no offering of shares have been initiated by the firm and is a case of fraud.
A case has been registered with Haflong police station case no. 46/2025 under section 318 (4)/338/ 336 (3) of the BNS.
Due to some medical ailment, Pandey is now receiving treatment at Haflong Civil Hospital.
Ahmed said that the case is in preliminary state and will provide details of the case soon
