USUKA demands introduction of Science stream in more schools

HAVARKEHAT, Apr 21: The United Students’ Union of Karbi Anglong today met KAAC EM i/c education department and demanded for introduction of Science stream in more schools in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong. They had submitted a memorandum to the EM stating their demands.
Among the demands were filling up the vacant posts in school starting from primary to higher secondary level. They said that due to the shortage of teachers, the education system in the district has been largely affected. The organisation had appealed to the EM to appoint more teachers in order to facilitate a smoother teaching-learning process.
USUKA leaders further reiterated their demand for opening more numbers of higher secondary schools with Science stream in them. They appraised the EM of how students from far-flung areas are struggling to study Science.
Further, the organisation appealed for conducting more awareness programmes on quality education. The people in the remote areas of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong need to be more well-informed about the need for quality education.
The EM assured to put in all efforts from his end in order to uplift the educational atmosphere.
