HAVARKEHAT, May 19: The United Students Union of Karbi Anglong (USUKA) appealed to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) to provide assistance to Nakulsing Ingti and his family. The organisation today submitted a memorandum to the KAAC CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang.
Nakulsing Ingti is the son of the visionary Ru Semsonsing Ingti, the founder of the Karbi Anglong district. USUKA demanded that the Ingti family must be given land in Karbi Anglong, they must be assisted in all means by the authority.
The organisation further demanded that a statue of Ru Semsonsing Ingti must be erected in Nagaon. Every year on his death anniversary, a commemoration programme must be organised at the place where his corpse was buried. The organisation further demanded that the KAAC should send a delegation to Nagaon to conduct the commemoration programme.
Later, the USUKA team also submitted a memo to the DC of Karbi Anglong demanding the release of LP School teachers from the responsibility of BLO and FLO. They said that the dual charges given to teachers are hampering the teaching-learning process. ADC Amrit Probha Das, ACS talked to the delegation and assured them that positive action will be taken at the earliest.
