DOLAMARA, May 09: Fed up with continued neglect by government and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) villagers of Ram Rongpi village of Upper Tarapung Polling station under Nilip constituency constructed road on their own. The work was taken up the villagers after the condition of the only link road worsened this year.
The villagers while expressing their deep dismay over the continued neglect by the state government and KAAC, told TDE that the lifeline road has worsened severely affecting their normal lives and activities. “We have no option left even MAC Pobitro Rongpi has never set his foot in our village and therefore, we continue to remain deprived from all government schemes and assistance including PMAY, Arunodai, old age pension, ration card and job card among others,” said a villager.
The villagers further told TDE that their conditions have not changed since the past 10 years and they do not expect any surprise from the ruling party which has been claiming transformation across the nation.
