West Karbi Anglong Congress holds sit-in demonstration

DONGKAMUKAM, Apr 08: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Vice President  Rudra Prasad Sharma and Nirmal Langthasa (APCC GS) participated in the ‘Jai Bharat Satyagraha’ sit-in demonstration today at Dongkamukam WKADCC head office West Karbi Anglong. Several congress activists with placards in their hands and slogans against the government took part in the demonstration.

   While speaking before the gathering, Congress leader RP Sharma demanded JPC in Parliament to initiate a probe against the Gautam Adani Group which became the world’s second richest. He demanded the authority to disclose before the country about the Modi-Adani relationship in the demonstration.

 He further asked the BJP Government why only the public sector profit-making ventures such as trains, 6 airports, toll gates, ports, LIC, power corporation, etc. were sold to Adani Group and not to others. He also questioned on the giving of defence installation contracts in the country to Chinese firms.

‘Nearly 2000 kms of our borders has already been intruded on by the Chinese Army but the Government has shown a soft stand against them. Is Government afraid of China?’ he questioned.   

  Blaming Modi Government he said that demonetisation ruined our country’s economic growth very badly due to which the Government failed to control inflation.

 Due to repeated questioning by Rahul Gandhi about Modi-Adani relationship he was dislodged from Parliament, he further said.

  ‘Not only Rahulji but all opposition leaders are targeted for no reason by Government through ID, CID, CBI, etc. and no democracy existed,’ he alleged.

  ‘We will continue demanding JPC in Parliament until it is formed,’ former BJP MP from Tezpur said.

 Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa  Sharma and CEM KAAC Dr Tuliram Ronghang were also not spared and were termed as experts in indulging rampant corruption activities mentioning the recent construction of Diphu-Dillaji -Sarihajan Road (Birola to Rongplimplam) road of 17 kms and it’s completion in just 7 days and withdrawal of Rs 30 crores by Kache Construction firms.

   ‘Dr Tuliram Ronghang is the ATM of Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma,’ he finally said.

 Nirmal Langthasa in his speech lambasted the Government on the one nation one religion and one business person issue and requested it to save democracy,

  WKADCC president Sing Teron, Alice Engtipi Ex EM, GS Khonsing  Enghee,  Cong leaders Ajit Dera Kareng Phanchopi, Augustine Enghee, Rupsing Bongrung, Jatiram Pator and many more took part in the demonstration.
