Workshop for children on Karbi traditional dances and songs concluded successfully

DIPHU, Jul 26: ‘Barla Amokam’, a summer workshop on Karbi traditional songs and dances, was conducted successfully by the Cultural Affairs Department of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). Conducted for children in the age group 6 – 14, the event was held at Rangsina Sarpo Cultural Hall, Lorulangso, Diphu.
The closing ceremony of the workshop was conducted today, during which the children performed Karbi traditional songs and dances. They also received their certificates for completing the workshop. The instructors were also given a certificate of appreciation by the organisers.
Among the guests present today were KAAC MAC Johny Timung, eminent writer Padmashree Dhaneswar Ingti, Karbi Cultural Society general secretary Sunil Tokbi, KAAC Board chairman Laichan Engleng, Dy. Director of Cultural Affairs Department Kathi Katharpi, TCRO Dilip Kathar, Rasinja Asong president Kasang Beypi, young writers On Teron and Welsing Hanse, among others.
Speaking at the event, the guests congratulated the organisers and appreciated the children for showing their interest in learning about the Karbi tribe.
Parents and guardians of the children were also present to witness their children performing the Karbi traditional art.
